When it comes to determining the best class in Diablo 4, it is an impossible question to answer in simple terms. While there may be nerfs and buffs in the game, it is important to understand that classes are more than just their individual builds. Therefore, it is recommended to choose a class based on your interest instead of focusing on a specific build. This will prevent disappointment when your desired playstyle becomes less effective.

For Diablo 4 Season 3, known as the Season of the Construct, the classes are more balanced compared to previous seasons. All five classes are looking good in terms of balance, so you don't have to worry too much about choosing the "best" class unless you want to compete with friends. Nonetheless, they are just as formidable as before, but other classes have seen more improvements. If you were looking forward to playing as a Druid this season, there is no need to worry: you will still be able to effortlessly defeat hordes of enemies while maintaining excellent health.

Necromancers face a similar predicament as Druids. It's not that their existing abilities are ineffective—quite the opposite, they can still obliterate foes with Bone Spear—it's just that they lack novelty. Necromancers continue to be slow yet potent spellcasters that are challenging to defeat and deal some of the highest damage in the game. However, their limited mobility in a season that promotes safe movement (The Vault) may make it harder for Necromancers to thrive. Another disadvantage for Necromancers is that summoning builds are still not viable in the endgame, and they have been reliant on the same significant skills since the game's launch.

Rogues are shifting away from melee gameplay this season and placing more emphasis on ranged skills. This change should be welcomed by those who are not fond of the Twisting Blades build or have grown tired of staying in close proximity to enemies while playing the stealthiest class in D4. However, with ranged gameplay comes a more intricate rotation of skills and a more challenging playstyle, so be prepared for that. On a positive note, Rogues have numerous viable builds this season, giving players the opportunity to find a truly powerful build that piques their interest.

Sorcerers are losing their strongest build from season 2, Ball Lightning, in season 3 (it was predominantly powerful due to a bug that Blizzard has finally fixed). However, Sorcerers still appear promising in Season of the Construct. Firstly, they are a highly mobile class, which should help them evade traps in The Vault activity. Secondly, they have received new and intriguing Unique items, as well as buffs to builds like Hydra and Meteor. Even though Ball Lightning may not be as potent as it was in season 2, it still remains a viable choice. Sorcerers have seen significant improvements in the past four or five months, positioning them in a truly encouraging state.

Barbarians will always be either the best or worst class in the game (due to the challenge of balancing them with extra weapon slots), and in season 3, they firmly fall under the "best" category. There are several builds that show great promise for Barbarians in season 3, but the new Charge build stands out, with Blizzard developers admitting that they may have over-buffed the ability in a recent livestream. Barbarians are already starting the season strong, thanks to the midseason patch in season 2, and the season 3 patch only enhances their abilities and speed. It's a dangerous combination that guarantees Barbarian players will truly enjoy the Season of the Construct.
